It’s always a pleasure to see the younger generation excited about farming. Nick here smiled for the camera next to his Massey tractor (which he maneuvers around like a champ on) when Brendon brought him a shirt from his travels to France for a farm show.
It’s getting to be that time of year again and equipment will soon be getting stored for the season. This week Shane has some quick tips on properly winterizing your sprayer. It’s always a good idea to properly flush out your tank and booms beforehand- so if you didn’t catch last week’s episode, be sure to check it out!

If you have a big square baler or two, there’s a good chance you’ve had an opportunity to meet Tyler Kuperus. He services all types of equipment, however, balers are his specialty. “I like the big square balers,” said Tyler. “They’re fun to work on.”
Tyler has been with Hanlon as a service technician for four years now. Other than working on balers, Tyler says the best thing about his job are his fellow co-workers. “They’re good people to work with,” he said.
Tyler lives in Coaldale with his wife Amber and 5-month-old daughter named Sierra. When Tyler has a little spare time you will likely find him outdoors either dirt biking or fishing- a couple things he really enjoys.

If you’ve been to Lethbridge College lately, you may have seen one of our big square balers outside of the new Trades and Technologies facility. We recognize how important it is for students to get hands-on training and often lend equipment to the college for students to learn on. We have an ongoing partnership with Lethbridge College through investment and our role on the advisory committee. Mike Anderson, our service department manager, and co-owner of Hanlon, sits on the board of the Agriculture and Heavy Equipment Technician committee. We hope our partnership with the college will assist students in getting the best possible education and preparing them for their future careers in the industry.
