What a pleasure it was to have some students from Kainai High School come visit us yesterday afternoon! They are in a summer program called BTEST Ag Camp. For six weeks the grade 11, 12 and some college upgrading students, travel to different places throughout southern Alberta to learn about careers in agriculture. Shane gave them the tour of our shop, yard and offices explaining to them how many different career paths we have right here at Hanlon Ag Centre. From administration to heavy duty mechanics, there is many different opportunities in agriculture. In the future, hopefully we will see some of these faces in the industry!

When it comes to changing the PTO shaft on your Fendt tractor, it’s important to make sure you’re doing it properly. If not, you may end up damaging the studs on your PTO shaft or losing it altogether. This week Shane gives a quick demonstration on how to do this and gives a few handy tips along the way.
What an exciting day it was yesterday to be able to see these new balers in action! The demo day got going quickly and these 2370UHD’s were out in the field in no time. There are only nine of these balers operating in the world right now and southern Alberta is home to two of them! Here’s a quick video from the demo day yesterday. More videos will come soon! If you’re interested in learning more about what makes these balers so unique, check out this page: 2370UHD Baler
Performing routine maintenance on the knotter area of your baler is crucial in order to keep it operating properly. This week Shane goes over some quick tips to keep this area of your baler properly maintained.
For this week’s Maintenance Monday we would like to remind you to check the tension of the main chain on your big square baler. This should be done daily as it can easily lose tension causing it to skip cogs on your baler. When this happens, your timing will be off which in turn can cause you to sacrifice bale quality. Check out this week’s video for the details.
It was an exciting day for us today, our first 2370UHD Massey Ferguson baler arrived! We’ll be doing a clinic this week with the new owner and a soon-to-be new owner. The arrival has been anticipated for quite some time now, it’s nice to see this good looking machine up-close and personal! Bale2018 will be here soon.
Can you guess what’s wrong with the picture below? For this week’s Maintenance Monday we just want to send out a friendly reminder- storing toolboxes or other heavy objects in the front of your cab is never a great idea. It doesn’t take much for these objects to hit the glass. So keep those windshields in one piece and exercise a little caution when getting ready to head out for the day.

Impressive…
