Massey Ferguson 1842S Premium

High Capacity, High Performance.
Massey Ferguson’s new 1842S Premium baler provides a solution for operators needing to pump out a high volume of bales in a shorter window of time.
For those who need a small square baler that can handle fast-paced, heavy-duty workloads, the new 1842S Premium is built for just that. It’s able to handle a higher feeding capacity and output- while delivering extra density if needed.
The 1842S features a new, reinforced heavy-duty main frame and plunger, with the overall design remaining the same as the current comparable 1840 model. The premium baler also features a longer drawbar, with the PTO shaft directly in line with it. This provides the operator with much more windrow and pickup visibility.
The new flywheel is just over 20% heavier and larger than the 1840; improving speed consistency and reducing power surges.
A new heavy-duty gearbox is able to handle increased power and loads; improving durability and service life.
The productivity potential of this baler shines with its new high-capacity, high speed, heavy-duty pickup. With a working width of 77 inches, its feed intake jumps 20% compared to the 1840.
It has the potential to operate up to 145 rpm, which is 37% faster than the 1840.
This baler has large diameter, down-turning cross augers, which provide exceptional capacity.
A newly designed tapered feeding chute easily controls high flow of materials. The front opening areas and pre-forming chamber are nearly doubled in size to ensure smooth and uninterrupted crop flow.
The 1842S features dual feeding forks which increase capacity by 20%. The forks are replaceable to keep repairs simple and downtime at a minimum.
The new plunger is heavier and stroke length is increased to improve torque and lower the power requirement.
New heavy-duty Rasspe knotters deliver high performance and reliability while keeping maintenance costs low. A reversible knotter cleaning fan continuously keeps the knotters clean and free of debris.
The new OptiForm bale chamber is slightly longer to maintain consistent density and excellent shape of the bale. Hydraulic bale density control will adjust to and react to changes in crop conditions.
This premium baler will not be taking the place of the high performing, reliable and low maintenance 1840, rather it offers a similar baler with additional premium features to meet more specific customer demands in the 14″ x 18″ bale category.
