LB2200 Series Baler
The Best Gets Better
Hesston by Massey Ferguson’s new LB2200 series big balers have some appealing new features.
It’s always great when you can make a good thing better, and that’s exactly what Hesston by Massey Ferguson has accomplished with the new LB2200 series baler. The new series was revealed as a baling solution which would provide new technology while remaining cost effective and user friendly. The highly effective and sought after double knotter system, low profile pickup design and pre-compression chamber are all maintained in the new series.
The most notable and newest modifications start with the new five bar pickup, poly wrappers, single piece tine bar and the knotter trip integration. The electronics integration, roller bale chute lift mechanism and available tire configurations also add to the list of enticing features.
The five bar pickup encourages a smoother crop flow than the previous four bar one. The improved design creates a better flake, and in turn, delivers better bales. The new poly tine wrappers are superior to the metal bands as they’re more flexible, yet highly durable- making for a longer service life and reducing noise.
With the single piece tine bar, parts are minimized when compared to the previous two part design.
The new knotter trip system is another time saving and efficient feature which allows operators to adjust the bale length from within the cab. Instead of the traditional metering and arm gear, operators can now use the ISO-compatible display to enter the length they want and the technology implements the rest. Pair this with a compatible Tractor Implement Management (TIM) system and the baler will communicate with the tractor the most efficient ground speed and the tractor will make the necessary adjustments.
The axle and tire configuration is modified from a double bogey system to a single bogey system delivering a smoother ride and additional clearance under the axle. The tires are also larger and come standard with a 650/2.5 size.
The roller bale chute lift mechanism has been adjusted so the cylinder and mount are now on the right side of the chute instead of below. This eliminates previous ground clearance issues and the tailgate can be moved up and down with ease.
Added benefits include the improved electronics integration with Massey’s Datatronic™ 5 terminal and MF Connect which deliver streamlined operations and data tracking.
