WAAS Satellite Decommission
If you’re using WAAS correction services…
The WAAS program has entered a new geostationary satellite into service which began transmissions on April 26th, 2022. This new satellite, PRN 135, will replace the current WAAS PRN 138 satellite. PRN 138 will cease WAAS transmissions on May 17th, 2022.
AGCO Trimble 382/482 receivers do not have an auto PRN, meaning they will NOT automatically transition to the new satellite and will fail to have correction data on May 17th, 2022.
As a short-term workaround, AGCO has partnered with Trimble to provide a free one year Rangepoint RTX subscription to those that are affected. Customers that are running a WAAS/SBAS only signal will need to call in with the receiver serial number and a corrected signal can be sent out to the affected unit.
This issue will not affect those that are running RTK or any other corrected signal.
Topcon, Novatel and Raven will be unaffected, they can be manually be changed but typically are set to auto (preferred).
