AGCO Technician of the Year Finalist

February 21, 2023

Cody Erman AGCO Technician of the Year finalist.

We’re extremely proud to announce that one of our service technicians, Cody Erman, has been selected as one of the TOP 6 finalists for the title of AGCO Technician of the Year. Out of over 50 nominees throughout North America, Cody was selected because of his proven skill, knowledge, customer focus, continuous learning and ability.

Next week, from February 28th to March 2nd he will be traveling to Hesston, KS to compete against the other 5 candidates for the title. During the head to head, hands-on competition, his performance will be evaluated based on his skill, effectiveness, efficiency and customer service.

Cody began his career at Hanlon in 2009, nearly 14 years ago, shortly after graduating high school. He originally started working in the parts department, where he obtained his ticket and stayed for four years. From there he decided to make the transition to service, where he went on to earn his journeyman ticket as a service technician.

His passion for agriculture started early on growing up in Saskatchewan where he would visit his uncle’s farm. He would often spend summers at his grandfather’s farm as well. It was in those places he realized his interest in working on, and learning about farm equipment.

Today, Cody is well versed in all of the different equipment lines Hanlon carries and is comfortable working on pretty much all of it. As the industry and equipment continues to evolve at a fast pace, Cody says he enjoys the challenge and finds it exciting how technology is rapidly changing things.

As far as the competition is concerned, Cody says he’s looking forward to it. Although, since it’s never been done before, he mentions it’s hard to know what to prepare for. “I’m not really sure what to expect,” he says, “but I do know for sure I’ll at least get 6th place.” He adds with a bit of humour.

In all seriousness though, Cody says he’s looking forward to the opportunity and also meeting the other techs in the competition.

We know he’s got what it takes to be #1, and all of us at Hanlon’s will be cheering him on as he represents!
